Configuring user rules

Follow these steps to configure user rules:

  1. In the Program control screen, click Add to access the Edit rule screen.

  2. Enter a rule name.

  3. Select if the rule will apply to a specific program or to all of them. If it only applies to a specific program, click Select to select it.

  4. In Action, select the communication direction:

    1. Allow outbound connections

The program can connect to the Internet, but does not accept external connections from other users or applications.

The program accepts connections from programs or users from the Internet, but it will not have outbound permissions to connect.

The program cannot connect to the Internet.

The program does not accept connections from programs or users from the Internet.

  1. Select if the firewall configuration for this rule will apply when you are connected to the Internet at home, work or public places.

  2. Finally, select the protocol, port or range of ports, and the IP address or range of IP addresses.

To edit or delete a rule, select it and click the relevant button.

To increase or decrease the priority of a rule, click the relevant arrow. The rule will move up or down.
